Fruit Ninja is the classic arcade game that turns your cursor into a blade. Fruit flies up from the bottom of the screen and you swipe to slice it in mid-air, chaining combos and chasing high scores while trying not to hit the bombs hidden in the barrage.

What is Fruit Ninja?

The appeal of Fruit Ninja is its immediacy: there is no learning curve, just the satisfaction of cleanly cutting through a watermelon as it arcs across the screen. The challenge is in the rhythm and the risk. Miss three pieces of fruit and the run ends; slice a bomb and it ends instantly. So every burst of fruit is a small decision about speed versus safety — do you go for a big multi-fruit combo, or play it safe and clear the easy ones?

How to Play Fruit Ninja

Swipe across the fruit to slice it. Each slice splits the fruit and scores points, and slicing several fruits in a single swipe triggers a combo bonus. Bombs appear mixed in with the fruit, and slicing one ends the run immediately. Letting three pieces of fruit drop off-screen un-sliced also ends the run, so you cannot simply play it safe forever.

Fruit Ninja Tips

Wait for clusters

Holding off until several fruits are grouped lets you slice them in one swipe for a combo bonus, which is where the real points are.

Track the bombs

Bombs mix into the barrage, so before you commit to a swipe, scan the path of your blade for any dark spheres.

Prioritize fruit about to drop

If fruit is about to leave the screen, slice it. Three missed fruits end the run, so survival beats style.

Use banana power-ups wisely

Freeze, frenzy, and double-score bananas appear occasionally; grab them when the screen gets busy to rescue a flagging run.

Use long, smooth strokes

Short frantic swipes miss fruit and risk catching a bomb. One clean arc through a cluster beats a dozen jabs.

Build combos, do not just react

The highest scores come from setting up multi-fruit slices, not from slicing each fruit the instant it appears.

FAQ About Fruit Ninja

Is Fruit Ninja free?

Yes, free to play in the browser.

Can I play it on mobile?

Yes — slicing with a touch screen is the way the game was designed to be played.

How do I lose a run?

Either by missing three pieces of fruit (they drop off the bottom) or by slicing a bomb. Either one ends the run instantly.

What do the bananas do?

Special bananas grant temporary power-ups: Freeze slows time, Frenzy spawns a huge wave of fruit, and Double Score doubles your points for a few seconds.

Are there different modes?

The classic version is the bombs-and-misses mode. Some builds also include a Zen mode with no bombs for relaxed play.
